Custom Painted Reels
web statistics
To paint a reel properly there is a ton of prep work.
It's not simply grabbing a rattle can of Rust-Oleum and going to town on it. Reels are very tolerance sensitive and getting paint in those spots will cause binding and even seize up your reel. Most of the time spent on this process is in the prep work. It's all about providing the most unique, UV resistant, and durable final product to our customers. We use only the highest quality primers, paints, and clear coats on the market today. These quality finishes combined with our killer paint skills and epertiese in reel mechanics equal one thing... one bad-ass reel to brag to your friends about!

If you're like me you have already tuned your reels, polished every friction point to a mirror finish, and upgraded your bearings, drag, worm gear, cog wheel, and anything else you can possibly think of  to achieve the maximum performance possible out of your reels. Does it still look like a stock reel out of the box? Sure, you could call it a "sleeper" and compare it to a Chevy Caprice with 600 ponies under the hood but some of us want something unique. We want something that says "this is a special reel". I introduce you to our custom painted reels!

How it Works
First you select your base coat color. Most of the patterns are printed on clear film so the base coat color is the over all color scheme of the reel. Example would be the Silver Water Drops pattern, only the water drops contain color the rest is transparent. Selecting a Blue base coat color would equate to Silver Water Drops over a blue background. Same thing goes for Green, Red, Black, White, and so on.

Second you need to select what areas of the reel to paint. Most of the time painting the Left Side Plate, Turnkey (if applicable), Right Side Plate, and Nose Piece/Thumb Rest will get the job done but some reels come from the factory with a painted frame and certain models have a lot of exposed frame surface area. Example of a reel where the plates cover most of the frame would be a Shimano Curado 200BSF or an Abu Garcia Revo.

Reels that have large exposed surface area of the frame would include Shimano Chronarch 100SF's, Shimano Curado 200E's, and of course Shimano Calcutta's. We can paint the frames to match the plates for an additional charge. Painting frames correctly is very time consuming and around here we do not cut corners. We do it right the first time and every time. Here are a few pictures of reels with painted frames.

Color Selection
With literally millions of color choices we simply cannot stock or special mix every color in the rainbow. We have a large selection of colors to choose from in almost every shade but if you  request "Butterscotch Purple Plum Sunshine Moonbeam" you will probably get a nice metallic Purple with a hint of Grey. All kidding aside we can accommodate most color request but it consists of Light, Medium, or Dark of a particular color like red, blue, green, purple, yellow, and so on. If you need a color matched we can do that at an addition charge.
